New Stretchers for the Emergency Department

Thanks to our amazing community of Niagara Health Foundation donors, we are proud to share that over 20 stretchers have been purchased for our local Emergency Departments over the past few months. Having critical equipment like these stretchers is about patients’ dignity and comfort, and we couldn’t provide that kind of care without the help of the Foundation and the help of donors.

Mammography Equipment Upgrades

It is estimated that about one in eight Canadian women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime, so early detection is crucial. Niagara Health performs thousands of mammograms every year, and Niagara Health Foundation is proud to share that aging mammography equipment was recently replaced with new, state-of-the-art devices, thanks to the generosity of community donors.

Updates for the Sleep Lab

The Sleep Lab is one of the quieter areas of the hospital, but they still see over a thousand patients a year. Sleep studies are not just about getting good sleep, they save lives. With the help of the Niagara Health Foundation the Sleep Lab has replaced all three of its systems and the team could not be more grateful for this state-of-the-art, life saving equipment.

Volunteers are the first people you meet when you come into the hospital. They are there to greet and guide you during moments that are often stressful or intimidating. Barb Cornelius, who has been volunteering at the Marotta Family Hospital for seven years, is a fantastic example of generosity and heart, two things that keep this hospital going.
