Jim Pattison Donates $5 Million to the It’s Our Future Campaign for the new South Niagara Hospital of Niagara Health
Niagara Health Foundation is thrilled to announce an extraordinary pledge of $5 million from the renowned philanthropist and business mogul Jim Pattison to the South Niagara Hospital and the It’s Our Future campaign. Mr. Pattison’s donation will significantly impact the Niagara Region’s healthcare landscape, enabling enhanced patient care and state-of-the-art facilities and, ultimately, saving more lives. The Niagara Health Foundation is incredibly grateful for this tremendous support and gift, will help bring the new South Niagara Hospital to life. In honour of the donation, the Emergency Department will be named the Jim Pattison Emergency Department.
Jim Pattison has a lengthy history of dedication to the community and public service. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, and The Jim Pattison Group is among Canada’s most prolific corporate donors. Jim Pattison credits his parents for teaching him the importance of giving back at a young age. Jim Pattison has been a great supporter of Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is home to two of The Jim Pattison Group’s divisions, including Great Wolf Lodge and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!

Located at the corner of Montrose and Biggar roads in Niagara Falls, the new hospital will have 469 beds, adding 156 more beds to the region. It will feature centres of excellence in complex care, wellness in aging and stroke, as well as a full-service Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit, surgical care, dialysis, diagnostics and more.
The Niagara Health Foundation will continue to announce and celebrate the It’s Our Future Founding Donors over the next few months and is so thankful of the donors that have supported the campaign. To date the Foundation has secured pledges of over $50 million in support towards the local share of the project.
