Make a Donation and Be The Reason Local Healthcare Advances
At Niagara Health Foundation, we raise and steward funds to support high-quality patient care, education and research at Niagara Health.
Did you know the equipment in our Niagara hospitals is not funded by the government? We rely on our community to help us raise the necessary funds. We fundraise exclusively for Niagara Health and bring people across the region together for a single purpose – to help our local hospitals and their healthcare teams deliver the best possible healthcare, right here in Niagara.
It is our vision that we become the charity of choice that inspires our communities to invest in extraordinary healthcare for the people of Niagara.
- Purchasing essential medical equipment and cutting-edge technology for all Niagara Health sites
- Funding capital development projects, including the construction of new hospitals and upgrading facilities
- Supporting special patient care programs and scholarships and bursaries for students and staff studying medical sciences

Community Donations At Work
Donations to the Niagara Health Foundation help ensure that your family, friends and fellow community members have access to the care they need.
It should have been one of the happiest times in their lives. Mia and her husband were expecting their first child and were so excited. Early on during Mia’s pregnancy, they learned that their baby was quite large considering the baby’s gestational age, “but that wasn’t really a surprise,” Mia laughs, “my husband is 6 foot 6 and was an 11-pound baby!” Aside from some additional ultrasound appointments, Mia had a normal pregnancy and the couple couldn’t wait to meet their baby. “I needed to be induced due to complications with preeclampsia, and ultimately I was required to have a C-section.”
Avery, an energetic and sporty four-year-old, likes to keep his parents, Taylor and Carly, on their toes. “He is a fearless little guy,” laughs his dad Taylor. “He does everything with a smile on his face and is as positive as can be,” he adds. “We’re very proud of that.”
Even during Avery’s recent stay at the Children’s Health Unit at Niagara Health, he managed to stay as positive as possible, and a big part of that was thanks to the amazing care he received. “We had to stay at the hospital for four days following an asthma attack,” his mom, Carly, explains, “and we just have to say that the healthcare team was wonderful.”
“Every year, you think about what causes you want to donate to,” explains Joel, who lives in Toronto but grew up in Niagara. “And I thought that in a perfect world, people in Niagara should be able to access all healthcare services necessary in Niagara instead of having to go to Hamilton or Toronto. So I decided to return to my roots and provide more support for Niagara. While my wife and I don’t currently live in Niagara, my family does, and I see my donations as a way of contributing to local healthcare that will be there when they need it. Much like it was there for my mom when she needed it.”
