Prior to the Event
A: The event will take place on Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at White Meadows Farms, located at 2519 Effingham St, Pelham. The event will run from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with volunteer shifts varying in time.
A: You will receive details about your volunteer role, responsibilities, and schedule two weeks before the event. You will be assigned specific tasks based on the role you have signed up for, and shift times will vary.
A: Yes! Please join us on Wednesday, September 10th from 6:30pm-7:30pm at White Meadows Farms (2519 Effingham St, Pelham) for a training session and Q & A period.
A: The primary method of communication will be via email. For any questions or concerns, please contact your Volunteer Coordinator, Kelsey Kaupp, at kelsey.kaupp@niagarahealth.on.ca.
Parking is available at White Meadows Farms. As parking is limited, we encourage carpooling or being dropped off on the event day. Accessible parking is available. For special parking accommodations, please reach out to your volunteer coordinator before the event. Please note, not all volunteer roles are located at the main event site, i.e. road marshals.
Please arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled shift to allow time for parking, check-in, and travel. You will sign in at the Volunteer Check-in Tent located between the Lodge and the Barn. From there, you will be directed to your assigned station.
Volunteers will be provided with a volunteer t-shirt, which must be worn during your shift. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing suited to the weather as the event is rain or shine. Bring the following:
- Comfortable shoes (for standing or walking long hours)
- A hat and sunscreen
- A water bottle (refill stations will be on-site)
- A light snack (if desired)
- Lawn Chair (Road Marshals & Comfort Maple Rest Stop)
Yes! Volunteers will be provided with one (1) drink ticket (applicable on bottled water and soft drinks) and one (1) food ticket. Lunch will be catered by PigOut Catering and a water refill station will be available on-site. Additional food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase.
Niagara’s Big Move Cancer Ride offers multiple cycling routes for participants of various levels, including a 14km, 25 km, 50 km, and 75km route. Riders will start at the Registration Tent to pick up their bibs, shirts, and other event materials. They will then proceed to the starting line. Volunteers will be stationed along the routes to assist with water stations, course direction, and cheering on participants. Once riders finish their route, they will return to the event site where they can enjoy a BBQ lunch, live music, and ceremonies until 2:00pm.
If you require a Letter of Confirmation for community service hours, please contact the volunteer coordinator when you sign out at the end of your shift.
During the Event
Staff from the Niagara Health Foundation, along with the event committee members will be stationed throughout the event as Sweepers, Road Marshals, and Registration leads. Please see a list of emergency contacts below,

If there is an emergency, such as an injured participant or medical issue, please contact the Event Coordinator, Holly Calvert, (289)-407-8136.
If you need to step away from your station, please inform your station lead so that your post can be covered. You may take a break when necessary, but stations cannot be left unsupervised.
Portable restrooms are located outside the barn at White Meadows Farms. Additional units will be placed along the routes at checkpoints.
Volunteers are asked to follow safety protocols and event guidelines. For participants: all riders must be registered to participate.
Once your shift is complete, please touch base with your station lead. Then head to the Volunteer Check-in Tent to sign out with the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers must sign out before leaving.
