First Time Riders
We encourage all participants to raise $500 for the Walker Family Cancer Centre. As an incentive, all riders who reach the $500 minimum will receive a complimentary limited-edition cycling jersey. There is no penalty if riders do not raise $500.
No, the registration fee pays for the support you’ll receive prior to, and during the event. Riders receive snacks/refreshments throughout the ride and a hot lunch and celebratory beverage at White Meadows Farms.
Every rider is asked to make a commitment to raise $500 in order to participate in the ride and receive their cycling jersey. If you do not reach this goal, there is no penalty.
We welcome anyone who is able to complete a 14K route to participate in the Ride. For those participants under the age of 19, a parent/guardian must accompany them on the ride and sign the acknowledgement of risk & informed consent form. Baby carriers and child seats are only allowed in the 14K Fun Ride.
Along the route, there will be signage and road marshals at each turn as well as traffic control at busier intersections. Rest stops will be available along all routes, offering water, sports drinks, snacks, and portable washrooms. In addition, sweep riders and event support vehicles will be on the course to assist participants as needed.
Yes! Friends, family and spectators are welcome at the event to cheer you on and celebrate your ride.
Preparation is key to having a safe and enjoyable experience on ride day. Here are a few ways to get ready:
Join a Training Ride: Our planning committee offers group training rides leading up to the event. These rides are a great way to build confidence, improve endurance, and meet fellow riders. Learn more here.
Get a Bike Tune-Up: Make sure your bike is in top condition. We recommend visiting one of our trusted partners—Liberty Bicycles or Niagara Ski & Cycle—for a tune-up or safety check before the big day.

Riders can change their registered routes at anytime. Email holly.calvert@niagarahealth.on.ca with your new route.
Sweep vehicles will follow each route length to make sure no rider(s) get left behind. If you are unable to complete the ride, the sweep vehicles will bring you and your bike back to White Meadows Farms.
A: Yes, registration is open at 7:30 am on event day. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your route start time to allow time to register.

- 10:30 am – 25k Ride Begins
- 10:35 am – 14K Fun Ride Begins
Virtual registration is open until September 30th.
Registered Riders

Once you have raised $500+ you can pick up your complimentary jersey at the event pre-registration (dates and details will be sent out in August) or at the registration tent on event day.
Lunch will be included for all registered in-person riders. For spectators and virtual riders lunch can be purchased at an additional cost. Details will be announced at a later date.
Cash and cheque donations can be submitted to the Niagara Health Foundation office located in the St. Catharines Hospital Site, at pre-registration or on event day. Please bring a printed pledge form along with the donations.
Yes! There is a rest stop along each route with washrooms, snacks and water.

Yes, past jerseys are available for purchase the day of the event or during pre-registration.
Yes, RideWithGPS is compatible with our Big Move Cancer Ride routes. This app is compatible with IPhones and Androids. Keep in mind there are different plans with RideWithGPS that range from basic to premium monthly memberships.
The route can also be uploaded to other cycling apps. Routes can be found here.
There is lots of free parking available at White Meadows Farms. Please enter the property from the Effingham Road entrance. Parking signs and parking attendants will direct you where to park.
This event is rain or shine however we will update our website and social media if the event is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
