Sophie Loach's homemade treats support Children's Health Unit

September 07, 2017

Here’s another wonderful example of youth philanthropy happening in our community!

Sophie Loach, along with her family, hosted a bake sale last month in support of our Children’s Health Unit. Homemade treats like butter tarts, cupcakes, cookies and lemonade were a hit with customers and a total of $200 was raised. Sophie’s brother Erik helped attract customers by dressing in his Storm Trooper costume!

The idea of giving back isn’t new to Sophie. The grade 5 student has previously donated her hair in support of cancer patients and sold lilacs for Autism. This time she wanted to raise money for a children’s hospital so she could help sick kids and chose Niagara Health because it is a local cause.

Thank you Sophie and Loach family for this generous gift!
