Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore Helps Blast Some Stones

August 01, 2018

In July, the members of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore stopped by to present Niagara Health Foundation with the remainder of their $25,000 pledge for the purchase of a Paediatric Colonoscope!

“Our Club, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore like projects that focus on children and youth and this project allowed us to combine that desire and a member’s passion to focus on the fight against cancer,” says J. Kent Chisholm, Past President of the club. “A number of our Club members also participate in The Big Move Cancer Ride. Our members volunteer their time and talent all for the betterment of the health of our families, friends and community.”

The club completed their pledge a year early, a welcomed surprise to Niagara Health Foundation. Rotarian member, Big Move Rider and Owner of Manor Cleaners, Gino Marchionda was the driving force behind the Rotary’s commitment, helping raise funds through his coupon book.

The club also hosts a number of fundraising events through the year, including Perennial Plant sales, Spaghetti Dinners, booths at the Annual Ribfest, a Christmas draw and a Lobsterfest each September.

Thank you Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore for your ongoing support of healthcare in Niagara! The new Paediatric Colonoscope is helping ensure that even in our smallest patients, those stones are going to get blasted!
