Niagara Duty Free helps build a healthier Niagara

June 28, 2019

When the call to help support Niagara Health Foundation’s Defibrillator initiative went out, the principles of Niagara Duty Free Shops didn’t hesitate to contribute to the cause.

Their generous $25,000 gift to purchase a defibrillator for the Greater Niagara Hospital site will be instrumental in helping save the lives of Niagara residents.

Niagara Duty Free President Michael Gruyich, partner Jim Craig, and General Manager Steve Richardson said they were “compelled to support services that support the local community.”

“We understand and appreciate the work that the Niagara Health Foundation is doing and we wanted to contribute toward their ongoing efforts and goals to build a healthier Niagara,” they said.

The urgent need to replace Niagara Health’s entire fleet of defibrillators came late last year when the supplier sent notice they would not continue support to the units.  In total, 66 units were needed to outfit Niagara Health’s entire fleet across all sites.

Answering the call to action, Niagara Duty Free’s purchase of this life-saving equipment will make an enormous impact on health care delivery to all residents of Niagara Health. Thank you for your support!
