Micki's Dream Jewelry

January 30, 2018

It’s not every day you meet someone like Micki… the 9 year old with a heart of gold. Micki made and sold earrings as a fundraiser for the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Micki and her family stopped by the Foundation office to make the donation in loving memory of her Grammie who passed away from cancer.

We weren’t the only ones who wanted to say thanks! Richard Singh (Supervisor of Radiation Therapy), Dr. Bill McMillian (Lead Oncologist, Radiation Program) and members of the cancer centre team also thanked Micki for her generous gift. The group visited one of the radiation suites where Micki learned how the money she raised helps to make a difference. As Richard said, donors like Micki are the reason we have specialized equipment so patients can receive the best possible care.
