Glenn Connell Recognized for Leadership in Niagara

August 13, 2018

Niagara Health Foundation would like to congratulate Glenn Connell, President of Lions Eye Care Niagara and devoted Lion member on his recent recognition from Lions Club International.

On behalf of Dr. Naresh Aggarwal, International President, Glenn was presented the International Leadership Award by Jim Lomas, District A2 Governor ‘in recognition of his Distinguished Leadership’. This award is not one that is received annually, but rather occasionally under special initiative categories.

Glenn was chosen for this award to applaud his dedication to eye care in Niagara and leadership within the Lions and Lioness Clubs across Niagara. In June 2016, as President of Lions Eye Care, Glenn spearheaded the Lions Eye Care Niagara project in support of Niagara Health Foundation.  He continues to lead the initiative which has committed to raise $200,000 for the purchase of an Ophthalmology Microscope at the Welland Site. The microscope provides advanced, accurate technology that helps Niagara Health’s team of ophthalmologists perform precise ocular procedures on nearly 6,000 patients each year.

Glenn and Niagara Health Foundation convey thanks to each and every Lion and Lioness Club across Niagara whose members have worked diligently in support of the Lions’ Eye Care Niagara project.  Their enthusiasm has helped achieved 84% of the project’s goal.
