Working as ONE for a healthier Niagara

One Foundation

On November 24, 2017, OneFoundation for Niagara Health System has made a bold step forward, rebranding to Niagara Health Foundation.

The new name and a new look reflects the Foundation’s partnership with Niagara Health and the Foundation’s commitment to helping build a healthier Niagara.

Niagara Health Foundation fundraises exclusively for Niagara Health and brings people across the region together for a single purpose – to help our local hospitals and their healthcare teams deliver the best possible healthcare, right here in Niagara.

Under its new name, Niagara Health Foundation will continue to work with all residents of Niagara to make sure we have the healthcare we need today and in the future.
“Healthcare is continuing to advance. So are we,” says Roger D. Ali, President & CEO of Niagara Health Foundation. “Our new name reflects our role as Niagara Health’s partner in building a healthier Niagara, benefitting patients in every community across the region. With the help of our donors and future supporters, Niagara Health Foundation will help ensure that Niagara Health sites have the tools and services needed to provide extraordinary care, close to home, for Niagara residents.”

Healthcare in Niagara has made strides in recent years, thanks in large part to generous donations from Niagara residents,” says Niagara Health President Suzanne Johnston. “The new name accurately reflects our Mission and strategic direction.  I believe that our Foundation is well positioned to help support Niagara Health today and into the future. Together we can help build a healthier Niagara.”
Niagara Health Foundation is prepared to support Niagara Health as it reshapes the way healthcare is delivered in Niagara, focusing on the highest safety and quality standards for all residents. The Foundation looks forward to working with Niagara Health and the Niagara community to support the construction of the new Niagara Falls site and future redevelopment projects.

Historical Information

January 1, 2014 marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Foundations supporting NHS…the date all were officially amalgamated into OneFoundation for Niagara Health System.  OneFoundation represents the evolution of fundraising operations, bringing together six fundraising organizations with a shared mission – supporting excellent hospital care for the people of Niagara

Joining forces are Douglas Memorial Hospital Foundation, Greater Niagara General Hospital Foundation, Niagara Health System Foundation, Port Colborne Hospital Foundation, St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation and Welland Hospital Foundation.  Under the unified ‘OneFoundation’ banner, the new Board of Directors looks forward to building on their collective legacy of success.

Strong community support has contributed to extraordinary advancements in Niagara healthcare … continued community engagement is needed to keep us moving in the right direction.  Every day, donors continue to impact hospital services by helping to fund programs or sites meaningful to them.   In funding technology and medical equipment needs through OneFoundation, all this positive energy is converted to better patient care.

We rely on our hospitals and our hospitals rely on us.  Niagarans have a proven track record of rising to challenges and OneFoundation for Niagara Health System will provide the means for us all to work toward our goals as a connected Niagara community.
