Event Overview
Niagara’s 18th annual Big Move Cancer Ride brought our community together once again for an inspiring day in support of the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Hosted at White Meadows Farms, the event welcomed hundreds of riders to the roads of Pelham, united by a shared commitment to advancing cancer care close to home.
Thanks to the generosity of our riders, donors, sponsors, and community partners, this year’s event raised an incredible $465,000 marking a significant milestone in the history of Niagara’s Big Move Cancer Ride and surpassing $8 million raised to help enhance cancer care for patients and families across the Niagara region.
New this year, Niagara’s Big Move Cancer Ride weekend kicked into gear with an indoor spin event in partnership with The Club at White Oaks. The new experience provided an alternative way to participate, welcoming those who preferred to cycle indoors while sharing in the same commitment to supporting local cancer care.
The following day, nearly 500 riders took to the roads on one of four scenic routes: the 14K Fun Ride, 25K, 50K, or 75K. As riders set out from the farm, the light morning fog gradually lifted, giving way to a beautiful day and an ideal setting for riders of all experience levels.
Following the ride, participants, supporters, and volunteers gathered to celebrate the day’s accomplishments over a BBQ lunch and live music from The Figure Four. More than 150 volunteers helped bring the event to life, offering their time, enthusiasm, and encouragement throughout the day.
Whether cycling indoors or taking to the roads, participants were united by a common purpose: helping ensure exceptional cancer care is available right here in Niagara. Every dollar raised supports local cancer care, helping patients and families access the care they need, close to home.
To our valued sponsors, thank you for being an important part of this year’s success and the impact it makes possible. Your partnership helps bring Niagara’s Big Move Cancer Ride to life and strengthens our collective ability to support the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Alongside our riders, donors, volunteers, and supporters, you are helping move cancer care forward for patients and families across Niagara.
