Event Overview
The Niagara Health Foundation’s 2025 Kids Ultimate Challenge, held on June 7th at Burgoyne Woods, was a beautiful and high-spirited day that brought together over 1,000 participants. Niagara’s littlest community members took on the playful challenge with enthusiasm, conquering Hay Mountain, crawling through mud pits, and making their way through the enchanting Bubble Forest. This spirited event was more than just fun though, it was a powerful show of support for Niagara’s Children’s Health Unit.
The excitement kicked-off at 10:00 am with Desjardins and Fit Collective getting the challengers warmed up for the course with jumping jacks and burpees. With the screech of a horn, they were off, and the energy they brought could be felt throughout the park. Before scooping up their medals, participants were greeted at the finish line by a waterfall of cool water from the St. Catharine’s Fire Department, adding an extra burst of excitement. Together, these courageous participants not only tackled the course but also raised an incredible $58,000 in support of Children’s Health.
A highlight of the day was the Teddy Bear Clinic, staffed by dedicated nurses from Niagara Health’s very own Children’s Health Unit. Throughout the event, kids lined up with their favourite stuffed animals, eager for their annual checkup. Whether it was bandaging a bear’s paw, applying a tiny cast to a tail, or simply offering a comforting diagnosis, the clinic created moments of connection, learning, and laughter. Participants also enjoyed a vibrant Fun Zone filled with games and activities for all ages, and had the choice to finish off the day with a sweet treat from either Wendy’s or Marble Slab Creamery.
Overall, the total amount raised from this year’s Kids Ultimate Challenge exceeded $150,000. The Children’s Health Unit will be empowered to purchase the items they need most, such as cribettes, monitors, or incubators, ensuring they can continue providing exceptional care to Niagara’s youngest patients.
The Foundation is incredibly grateful for the continued support from its community members. Together, through the generosity of our sponsors, and team of dedicated staff and volunteers, this event was made possible and will continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families across Niagara.
